Crying Baby

Five hours of wailing last night. Thank goodness my mom is here so we could take sanity shifts. Mylicon didn't work. The methods from "Happiest Baby on the Block" (swaddling, side lying, shushing, sucking...) didn't work. The swing, diaper changes, white noise, feeding, changing, singing didn't work. Crazy baby finally wore herself out at 3 AM! Any suggestions?

All I can say is...I'm sorry!! 5 hours is a loooong time. Only suggestion: careful what you eat if you're breastfeeding. You may already know that, though. Check to see if there's something you ate that could have upset Meadow. One of my midwives started calling her son "DI" (Devil Incarnate) when he wailed all night for two nights in a row. Then she cut out the jalapeno peppers she'd had both nights. It helped.

The only thing that helped Chase was holding him (this is funny to describe), but holding the baby with their head in your elbow area with them laying on their stomach with your arm under and your hand kinda in their crotch. Then, we would rub just the middle of his back, keeping your bottom of your palm kind of in their lower stomach area (it's what helps to get the gas out if that's it).

Definitely evaluate what you eat, even down to milk, wheat, or corn.
